Jr. Suns Basketball-Recreation League

The Junior Suns Basketball League is designed to help improve sports skills while emphasizing fun, sportsmanship, hard work, and character development. After the first week of practice, players will be divided into separate teams within their age-group. The competitive balance will be sought while creating each team. Players must be the age indicated by 1/3 to enroll within that age group. Space is limited, for planning purposes team assignments are final

Ages 4-16

PRACTICES:

4-6-Division-(Thurs.-5-6pm)

7-8 Division-(Thurs.-6-7pm)

9-10 Division-(Tues.-5-6pm)

11-13 Division-(Tues.-6-7pm)

13-16 Division-(Tues.-7-8pm)

What To Expect:

First week: Practice will be a skill assessment held by the coaches to equally divide teams. There will NOT be a game.

Second Week: Teams will be assigned at the beginning of practice. There will be a parent meeting once the teams are divided and jerseys will be given to parents immediately after. Games will begin this week!

*All Teams are Final pending Athletic Coordinator’s approval.

GAMES-FRIDAYS:

4-6 Division-5-6pm (Games played cross court)

7-9 Division-6-7pm

9-10 Division-5-6pm

11-13 Division-6-7pm

13-16 Division-7-8pm

JERSEY POLICY

Due to a generous donation from Spee-D Tees Bar-B-Q, all jerseys (for first-time participants) in the Basketball and Volleyball program will be offered to players free of cost. If a jersey is lost or damaged a $20 jersey replacement fee will be charged.

Volunteers Needed:

Become a volunteer coach or referee and you may qualify for discounted entry into a program for your child.

Private Youth Sports Lessons

Your Child will work one-on-one with one of our experienced coaches to help improve their skills.

Scholarships

Due to a generous gift by Phoenix Suns Charities, assistance will be given to those with a proven financial need (documentation required). Funding is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Please call the Welcome Desk at (602) 425-5000 or email [email protected] for more information. Applications must be submitted at least two weeks before the start of the season.
