Jr. Suns Basketball-Recreation League

AGES: 4-16
The Junior Suns Basketball League is designed to help improve sports skills while emphasizing fun, sportsmanship, hard work, and character development. After the first week of practice, players will be divided into separate teams within their age-group. The competitive balance will be sought while creating each team. Players must be the age indicated by 1/3 to enroll within that age group. Space is limited, for planning purposes team assignments are final.

Spring 2024 Season:
March 18th – May 4th

Practices:

  • Ages 4–6: Thursdays, 5–6pm
  • Ages 7–8: Thursdays, 6–7pm
  • Ages 9–10: Tuesdays, 5–6pm
  • Ages 11–12: Tuesdays, 6–7pm
  • Ages 13–14: Tuesdays, 7–8pm

What To Expect:

First week: Practice will be a skill assessment held by the coaches to equally divide teams. There will NOT be a game.

Second Week: Teams will be assigned at the beginning of practice. There will be a parent meeting once the teams are divided and jerseys will be given to parents immediately after. Games will begin this week!

*All Teams are Final pending Athletic Coordinator’s approval.

All games on Friday:

  • Ages 4–6: 5–6pm
  • Ages 7–8: 6–7pm
  • Ages 9–10: 5–6pm
  • Ages 11–12: 6–7pm
  • Ages 13–16: 7–8pm

 

JERSEY POLICY

Due to a generous donation from Spee-D Tees Bar-B-Q, all jerseys (for first-time participants) in the Basketball and Volleyball program will be offered to players free of cost. If a jersey is lost or damaged a $20 jersey replacement fee will be charged.

Volunteers Needed:

Become a volunteer coach or referee and you may qualify for discounted entry into a program for your child.

Private Youth Sports Lessons

Scholarships

Due to a generous gift by Phoenix Suns Charities, assistance will be given to those with a proven financial need (documentation required). Funding is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
